Kousa Dogwood - Cornus Kousa

There are several attributes of the kousa dogwood tree. The first attribute is that it is going to start to bloom in May or June. The blooms are going to very distinctive because they are going to have white bracts that will surround small flowers that are a greenish yellow. But as the bracts mature, they are going to turn pink, and they will last for about six weeks at a time. Based on the color and shape of the flowers, they are going to look a lot like onions especially since they are going to be round in shape.
The second attribute is that it is not going to grow that tall so it is a great tree to plant close to a wall, building, or a utility line. The third attribute is the leaves of the tree are a dark green. They are going to be elliptic or ovate and will be between 2 to 4 inches long.
The fourth attribute is that it has a horizontal branching, so it is going to make it look wonderful. The fifth characteristic is that it will grow round. The sixth attribute is that it is going to produce fruit that is pinkish red to red. In fact, they are going to look a lot like raspberries. Therefore, it is going to attract a lot of songbirds.
The seventh attribute is that the colors in the fall are breathtaking. This is because they are going to be purple or scarlet. This color is going to last for a few weeks, so it is great to look. The eighth attribute is going to be very exfoliating especially as it ages. This is because it is going to be a mix of a gray-tan and mahogany brown. The fall is going to be the best time to view this tree.
