Low Bush Blueberry - Vaccinium Angustifolium
Low Bush Blueberries are slow-growing groundcovers that offer the benefit of both landscape interest and a ready-made source of nutrition for both humans and animals. They may be planted in a sunny location with plenty of moist, fertile, acidic soil. They prefer proper drainage. Plant should be spaced 1 to 2 feet apart to allow for spread. The low Bush blueberry needs regular watering throughout its mid-to late summer growing season. For best performance, blooms the first year should be pinch and the plant should be pruned regularly each year after. In the spring, this attractive plant features gorgeous blooms followed by clumps of large berries. Showy foliage in the fall makes this a beauty nearly year-round.
